What is Contio MCP?
Contio MCP connects your meetings to the AI tools you already use, like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets an AI assistant work directly with your Contio data, so you can ask about your meetings, draft from them, and prep with them without copy-pasting or switching windows.
What can I do once it's connected?
Your assistant can work with your meetings the way it works with everything else you've given it. For example:
Ask across every meeting: "What has this client asked for across our calls this year?"
Draft the follow-up, the plan, or next week's agenda from what was actually said.
Get prepped before a call, blending your meeting history with what your assistant already knows.
The difference is memory. Most tools can hand your AI a single meeting. Contio hands it every one — so every meeting makes your AI smarter.
Which AI tools can I connect?
Any AI tool that supports MCP. That includes Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor today, plus any other MCP-compatible assistant or agent.
How do I connect Contio to my AI tool?
The quickest way is the hosted Contio MCP — a managed connection with nothing to run yourself:
In Contio, go to Settings → Developers.
Under Contio MCP, follow the prompt to connect a supported tool (or copy your hosted MCP connection details).
In your AI tool, add Contio as an MCP connector and authorize the connection.
Approve the connection. You grant a scoped token, and you're set.

Can I run my own MCP server instead?
Yes. If you'd rather self-host, point your own MCP server at the Contio API and follow the agent-integration guide. Self-hosting works on any plan. Full setup steps are in the developer docs at https://docs.contio.ai/user-api (see the agent-integration guide).
Which plans include this?
The hosted Contio MCP (one-click) is available on Pro, Elite, and Enterprise.
The Contio API is available on every plan, including Free (sign in with OAuth to get started).
Self-hosting your own MCP works on any plan.
Full-transcript (SRT) export via the API is available on Elite and up.

Is my meeting data safe when I connect an AI tool?
Yes. Contio never hands your meeting data to an AI model, we don't record audio, and we don't train on your conversations. When you connect your own assistant, that's your call: you grant a scoped token, you decide what it can access, and you can revoke it anytime. And no bot ever joins your calls.
Can I control what my AI can see, and turn it off later?
Yes. The connection uses a scoped token that you grant and can revoke whenever you want, from Settings → Developers. You're in control of what's shared, start to finish.
Can my AI tool access my Canvases through this?
Not yet. Contio doesn't provide Canvas access through the API or MCP today — your assistant works with meetings, action items, agendas, calendar (read-only), participants, and meeting context.
What's the difference between the Contio API and Contio MCP?
Think of them as two ways to put your meetings to work. The Contio API is for building on your own meetings — your own integrations, automations, and workflows. Contio MCP is for connecting your meetings to AI tools you already use, with no building required. Many people start with MCP and reach for the API when they want to build something custom.
Is this the same as the Partner Program?
No. The API and MCP are for building on, or connecting to, your own meetings. The Partner Program is for embedding Contio into a product for your customers — a deeper, co-built integration. I'm having trouble connecting. What should I do?
First, confirm your plan includes the hosted MCP (Pro, Elite, or Enterprise). Make sure you authorized the connection in both Contio and your AI tool, and that your token hasn't been revoked under Settings → Developers. Try disconnecting and reconnecting. If it still doesn't work, reply here and we'll help.
