How to Capture a Meeting

Written by Andrew Ely

MeetingOS never records automatically — you always stay in control of when capturing starts. Here's how to capture any meeting, scheduled or impromptu.

Capture a scheduled meeting

  1. Open MeetingOS and go to the Today view (Home page)

  2. Find the meeting you want to capture

  3. Click on the meeting to open it

  4. Click the Capture Notes button to begin capturing

MeetingOS will start listening and generating a live transcript in the background.

Start an impromptu meeting

For unscheduled calls or in-person conversations:

  1. Click the Meet Right Now button in the left-hand menu

  2. This creates an instant meeting session immediately

To add people to an instant meeting, open the meeting and click the Access button on the meeting page.

During the meeting

Once capturing is active, you'll see a purple Capturing… indicator. Click it to view the live transcript as the conversation unfolds.

Check that it's capturing: after you start, click Capturing… and make sure words are appearing in the live transcript. If the transcript stays empty, your meeting isn't being captured — see What to Do If Something Isn't Working.

After the meeting

When the meeting ends and you stop capturing, MeetingOS will automatically generate a summary, meeting notes, and action items. These will appear in your meeting's Summary tab.

Tip: MeetingOS works for in-person meetings, video calls, and phone calls. For phone calls, make sure your phone is on speakerphone so MeetingOS can hear both sides of the conversation.
