If you start capturing notes before a meeting’s scheduled start time, the agenda countdown timer may not appear right away. This is expected behavior.
The countdown timer is designed to track progress against your planned meeting agenda, not the moment note capture begins.
How it works
When you create a meeting with agenda items and planned durations, Contio uses the scheduled meeting start time as the beginning of the agenda timeline.
For example, if your meeting is scheduled for 9:45 AM and your agenda has three 5-minute sections, the timer begins tracking that agenda at 9:45 AM.
If you start capturing notes at 9:44 AM, Contio will begin capturing, but the agenda countdown timer will not appear until 9:45 AM.
Why doesn’t the timer start early?
Starting the timer before the scheduled meeting time can make the agenda timing inaccurate.
For example, someone might start capture five minutes early while people are still joining, chatting, or getting ready. If the timer started immediately, the facilitator could appear to be five minutes behind before the meeting has actually begun.
By waiting until the scheduled start time, the timer stays aligned with the planned agenda and gives the facilitator a more accurate view of how the meeting is progressing.
What should I expect?
If you start capture before the scheduled meeting time:
Notes will begin capturing.
The agenda countdown timer will not display yet.
The timer will appear when the scheduled meeting start time arrives.
If you start capture at or after the scheduled meeting time:
The agenda countdown timer should appear right away.
The timer will reflect progress based on the planned meeting start time and agenda durations.
What if the timer appears late?
The timer should appear at the scheduled meeting start time. If it does not appear at the scheduled time, or appears noticeably late, please contact support so we can investigate.
